Allman Brothers Rock the Beacon, Night No. 2

Two nights ago, the Allman Brothers Band kicked off their annual gathering at New York’s Beacon Theater in style, with Taj Mahal and Levon Helm taking the stage with the legendary band for several memorable jams. Last night’s show No. 2, however, upped the ante a little bit, with Johnny Winter joining the Brothers at the end of the first set for a blistering rendition of Jimi Hendrix’s “Red House,” followed by the Allman’s “You Don’t Love Me” and Winter’s classic “Highway 61.”
